Fragile- Lab, is a complex design by the Belgian architecture studio Import.Export Architecture. The lab is located in Antwerpen, Belgium and houses four different functions: storage facilities, a retail showroom, office and a duplex apartment.
The building is characterized by its light structure, featuring large expanses of glass and off-kilter columns. The architects aim was to intentionally make the building appear fragile. This is further enhanced by its many angles and almost see through interior. Inside, a full length green wall connects the levels an adds color to the stark white space.

We are looking at the relationship between an informal and formal economy. For example, the shanty towns and slums of many urban areas in emerging economies. I am keen to understand more on how architects are looking at this aspect of increased urbanisation in the coming period. Do you have any perspectives on this? The types of architecture needd? Sustainability? Materials? Affordable housing?
