Yellow treehouse by Pacific Environment Architects

This stunning treehouse was designed by Pacific Environment Architects, and is currently under construction on a site north of Auckland.

The company was commissioned by the country’s Yellow Pages as part of a promotion for the phone book to show that no matter wat your project is, the Yellow Pages can help you complete it. To prove it, they’re building a restaurant 10 metres up a redwood tree, and the idea is to source all products and services through Yellow Pages listings.

The Yellow Tree house will seat 18 people, is 10m wide, 12m high and is built 10m up a 40m tall Redwood tree. Light creates a dramatic effect at night when it glows through the wooden slats. Under the roof, there is a clear acrylic to protect the Tree house during rainy weather. To get to the treehouse restaurant, a 60m long walkway has been designed.
